The website all started in 2004 with one woman who realised there was a complete lack of communication between the media, fashion houses and the plus size community, hence 100% People was created to give those individuals a place to come together, to support one another and find all the information they wanted on one platform.
Even though the fashion industry is finally realising that we actually do want to see diversity in adverts, on screen, in magazines and online, the presence of what is now classed as the ‘average’ sized woman is limited and it still seems a struggle to find clothing brands that cater to the needs of real individuals.
100% People is bridging the gap through the services the website offers, like the shopping zone, so customers have easy access to clothes that will actually fit. Also through the community and newsletter, where members can find support, advice and friendship with like minded people who know first hand what they are going through. Thirdly through Daisy’s blog, 100%’s large and fabulous guest writer, who researches companies and exposes them for their 100% people friendliness or prejudices, in a frank and honest manner. Not only this but 100% People has just added a men only section where males above average in size can find what they are looking for in the humour of in house blogger, Tony.
