High-end department store Selfridges has decided to stop providing women with plus size clothing, to the annoyance of females across the UK.
Larger ladies are asking what’s your issue, after the flagship London store closed its plus-size section.
Half the women in the country are a size 14 and above, yet you’ll be hard pushed to find anything in those sizes on display in Selfridges.
A London store assistant admitted: “The biggest we sell in Selfridges is a size 14. We stopped our plus size range a couple of weeks ago.”
Cheryl Hughes, who runs plus-size modeling agency Hughes Models, said: “Half the country need US size 14 or bigger. It’s disgusting that Selfridges won’t sell them.”
A Selfridges spokeswoman said: “Selfridges is constantly updating its brand mix. This is also reflected in the sizing we offer.”
Fabulous magazine’s fashion director Tracey Lea Sayer says: “The fact that Selfridges think that it is a clever move to remove size 18s from almost all their rails is hilarious.
“It would seem Selfridges have become so high and mighty they want to dictate the look of their customers. What next, a door policy?”
Let us know your thoughts on the matter, did you used to shop in Selfridges and now can’t? Why do you think they have done this?
