Rebecca Wheatley, Casualty Star “How I lost half my body weight”

Rebecca Wheatley, former Casualty star, has completely transformed her image after shedding an amazing 12 stone.

The actress shrank from a size 32 to a size 12 in just two years, and showed off her new figure during an appearance on The Paul O’Grady Show.

The mother of one decided to transform her life after reaching her 40th birthday and at her most heaviest of 24 stone. Rebecca said: “One day I woke up and suddenly thought, ‘enough’s enough’.

“I was married and had my child. But coming back from honeymoon and seeing the wedding photos just left me feeling really sad. I had on this vast purple dress and remember being determined to be ‘different’, which is why I did not want the traditional white wedding. But if I had my time again, I would. Looking back at the photos I just thought, ‘enough’.”

Rebecca, who has appeared in a number of West End shows since leaving Casualty four years ago, ramped up her exercise routine and completely overhauled her diet, swapping crisps and cakes for lean meat and vegetables.

She explains; “I lost 12 stone over a period of 2 years, and it was done through sensible diet and eating. I have always hated exercise and the gym, before I started trying to get fit I’d barely done a sit-up in my life. The gym was never for me.

“I wanted to exercise at home, so I worked out a simple home exercise programme. I’ve turned it into a DVD – The New Me Workout, which I do three times a week.”

As well as releasing her own fitness video she also celebrated her weight loss with a racy appearance on stage in Bad Girls, The Musical which played at the Garrick Theatre in London.

Rebecca told the Sunday Mirror: “Two years ago, I would never have dreamed that I’d be wearing sexy little knickers on stage in front of hundreds of people!”

She concludes: ” I am not advocating any quick fix solutions, but I can lose weight then anyone can!”
