LFW designer Mark Fast uses size 14 models on the catwalk!!

Hurray!! A designer that has provided a reality check at the renowned London Fashion Week by using many shapes and sizes to demonstrate his new collection.
Mark Fast, renowned for his body con dresses, used not only size 8 models but also 12 and 14 giving his collection the diversity we see in everyday life – it demonstrates that catwalk design isn’t restricted to tall and slim, only restricted by those people who believe the catwalk can only be worn by these women.
Unfortunately, instead of the press focusing on reviewing the collection, it seems there was all too much gossip to be spread than praise for the designer. As a result of Fast using “plus size” models his stylist resigned, ultimately moving the focus to her. Fast and his team were not deterred though – managing director, Amanda May, said she was “so happy we stuck to our guns over the casting”. She told the Observer that stylist Daniella Agnelli had stepped in to help out. “She was in the studio until after 2am with Mark perfecting the show. We are really grateful to her.”
Fast had been working with size-12 model Hayley Morley for the LFW photography exhibition, All Walks Beyond the Catwalk. It launched on Friday at London’s Somerset House with a party attended by Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue, and prime minister’s wife Sarah Brown.
The exhibition features models aged 18 to 65, in sizes 8 to 16, wearing outfits created by young London designers. It aims to change the narrow vision of beauty offered by the fashion world.
I’m glad something is finally being done to counteract the belief that catwalk models should be one size only.
