Irish born Tara Logan Buckley has won Britain’s Next Plus Size Model competition.
She beat 500 competitors to be the first one to win the title. The judging panel consisted of Chloe Marshall, Cheryl Hughes; Founder of Europe’s first and most successful plus-size modelling agency, Hughes Models, Lyndsay Russell; author of Fat Chance and radio personality – Woman’s Hour, Kaleidoscope and Loose Ends and the Australian plus-size retail guru Phil Ryan who is the General Manager of City Chic, owners of over 40 plus-size retail outlets. Phil flew to the UK specifically for this purpose.
Tara speaks of her success;
“I wanted to be Britain’s Next Plus Model as I have always been so proud of my curvy shape and frame. I have always worn my clothes with pride and encourage others to do the same.
“I feel, as a university student, that I can represent a younger generation in which the size zero is not fashionable and not healthy. Being from Ireland we have nothing here that allows us to be proud of our shape; that’s why I was willing to travel for my love of the modelling world. I’ve got boobs and a bum and I’m not afraid to show them.”
