Jill Scott, a woman who can make even the most accomplished person look lazy! As a Grammy Award-winning recording artist, singer- songwriter, poet, actor and philanthropist Jill Scott really proves she’s doesn’t do things by halves. And her latest venture Plus-Size clothing for Big Beautiful Women (BBW) confirms this 100%.
Entering into an exclusive joint venture with Ashley Stewart Stores, Scott has joint-developed a new brand of intimate clothing for the plus-size woman debuting with the Butterfly Bra!
Jill found her own needs as a BBW were unmet as she was unable to find, a bra that is both comfortable and attractive for females who have a larger than average cup size.
The result is a line of three bras and matching panties that will be available at Ashley Stewart stores from May 2008. Each style features a crossed “butterfly” double back strap (which inspired the collection’s name) as well as gel-padded shoulder straps for added comfort.
After the initial launch, The Butterfly Collection is set to expand massively, always focusing on both form and function.
Famous for her charity work, Jill’s Blues Babe Foundation will benefit from the partnership with Ashley Stewart Stores Community Foundation. Starting with the launch of the Cecil B. Moore recreation center in Jill’s hometown of North Philadelphia. Initially due to close through funding shortages, a donation of more than $100,000 by the Foundation was able to renovate the auditorium, bathrooms, floors, and swimming pool, and provide new outdoor basketball courts and a new kitchen. Now that’s what we call the re-birth of a true butterfly!
