Do you think plus size models are given a fair chance in the industry ?

The debate over the size of models has been re-ignited by a magazine, which claims most catwalk models meet the BMI criteria for anorexia.
Plus Model Magazine,which is geared to plus-size fashion, is trying to encourage shoppers with fuller figures to pressure shops to stop promoting skinny as ideal and cater for bigger sizes.
Here at 100percentpeople we get very annoyed when you see small women in what they class as Plus Size Clothing. I personally spent my life thinking I was too fat at 5′ 8″ and 10stone 2lbs all due to what was shown in the media. So why can’t we see the larger clothing on the larger woman. At least then it will be a true representation.
Fashion students at Edinburgh College of Art are being encouraged to celebrate the diversity of size, skin tone, age and height when creating designs, using mannequins up to size 20.

“It’s very difficult to have a sense of identity for some women and to be loved and accepted for who they are.
Therefore, some women feel they need to try to look a way that’s acceptable to their peers. Nobody is happy with the way they are.We look in the mirror and want to see something else. Is this leading to an increase in eating disorders?
“The average size is now 16, so we need to have clothes that are cut for women. More female designers should be designing for women.”
