Online Resources for Tall Folks

In my search to find out more about the tall people in this world and the things that affect their life, for example, where do they buy clothes and shoes? What is it like being tall? (As you can tell, I am a short person and suffer with things like the length of my trousers, which I am sure, for those of you that are tall have the same issues but just in the reverse!) I came across a huge amount of resources, so many that I don’t think I could mention them all here but I will do my best to try!!

And before you get defensive over why I am focusing on tall this week, please don’t feel I am singling you out, I am merely understanding you and appreciating you for being different. Read this paragraph from Tall Expression. It is beautiful.

A younger, very short woman recently approached me, with the same giddy nervousness of someone star struck. “I just had to come over and stand near you just to see how short I was!” She wanted to feel more short? That didn’t make sense until Cornelia’s words and my own experiences finally came together. None of these people who approach me are being rude. They aren’t trying to make us feel badly about ourselves. They are just in awe of us! After that clicked, I felt so open to this woman who approached me. I reached out to her and put my arm around her saying, “You don’t want to feel more short, do you?” I laughed because I knew that wasn’t what she meant. Then, of course, the regular height questions followed, but this time I wasn’t annoyed. I finally understood and embraced what made me stand out. I understood why tall people get all of this attention. We are different! We are special. We are celebrities in our own right.

Over the next couple of days I intend to deliver; useful websites – which will be today’s offering, online shopping totally catering to taller folk and finding tall love. I would love your input so if you have something you want the world to know comment below!

I have found a club website www.tallclub.co.uk that offers a wealth of information, the club has a member area where you can blog and chat but you can also access some of their information resources without registering. If you are looking for facts and figures relating to your height, including health information, Tall Club also provides this. I found these sites whilst searching;

www.notmuchfits.co.uk “A guide to being tall in a short sighted world” is a blogging site with funny insights, like the tallest cow in Britain and shopping websites catering for tall people. There is even a full list of the famous that are tall and the world’s tallest female and male. I love this site as it is fun and funky but it serves its purpose and understands tall people.

Tall Women is a site for women around the world; their aim is to be the ultimate resource for tall women. From what I can make out it is largely supplied with information by tall women everywhere. They have a very comprehensive global shopping directory for all your needs.

The Height Site is a useful resource and is “for everyone interested in and affected by height.” The site contains three main areas making it easy to navigate; ‘Taller Men’, ‘Taller Women’ and ‘Taller Home’. You can find custom made clothing shops and tall ski wear to name a few article topics.

Tall Expression is a lifestyle publication but online! There are a number of lifestyle subjects including entertainment, style, psychology, “rants” and videos. This site is aimed at women 5 foot 9 and taller, go and explore it here.

My most favourite website is Plus Size Tall, a great place to visit if you are plus size and/or tall! So, yes if you are just Tall, it does cater to you. It is targeted at both men and women and is very simple to navigate and find exactly what you are looking for. Their subject matter is vast with the latest news, style, interviews and much more.
