How to Style your Curves this New Year’s Eve

Guest Post by Sarah Zammit from Pasazz.net

One of the most awaited evenings of the year is fast approaching, New Year’s Eve, and it brings along with it a dilemma: What to wear?

If you are still trying to decide what the best outfit choice would be, and you are getting nervous since the big night is only a week away, fret not! Today I am going to give you some ideas to help you decide what to wear on this big night, so you can celebrate the start of 2011 in curvalicious style.

Choosing what to wear depends largely on the type of event you will be attending.

Formal Gala Event
If you are attending a gala event, such as a dinner party, your outfit of choice will of course have to be more formal. Consider opting for a long dress, which is always a perfect choice for such an event. I do not usually like to wear black, but for New Year’s Eve I would actually do so, reason being, a black dress gives you an elegant blank canvas which you can then touch up any way you like. I would wear a long black dress, pair it up with silver or red high heels and a matching handbag. Why red heels? Red is definitely the ultimate festive color, and wearing red on New Year’s Eve is set to bring luck, so hey why not try?

Of course if black is not your thing, you can opt for other regal colors such as royal blue, which are also ideal for evening parties. Choose a dress with ruching detail along the waistline, as this helps hide any bulge but accentuate your curves at the same time. If you are comfortable with showing some leg, choose a long dress which has a slit up to the knee, this adds a touch of elegant sexiness to your outfit. Do not forget to accessorize with fancy jewelry and hair accessories to complete the outfit.

Casual Party with Friends
I think New Year’s Eve is one of the few occasions throughout the year where you have every excuse to dress up, so even if your plans do not include any fancy gala parties, I would still suggest you dress up a bit and add some sparkle to your outfit! You can opt for a knee-length wrap dress for instance, which you can glam up with matching fancy earrings, necklace and bracelet. Hair accessories also go a long way in jazzing up an overall outfit’s look, so try and put some sparkle on your locks as well. Finally, definitely opt for some high heeled shoes, and matching handbag. If you opt for a one color dress for example, you can make your outfit rock by wearing shoes with some sequins or sparkle on them.

If you are not a dress kind of gal, you can still create a glamorous New Year’s Eve outfit by sticking to your favorite pair of ‘going out’ jeans. Make sure you pair up your beloved and comfy denim with a fancy top, I would definitely opt for something red here. And if possible, wear matching red shoes. That would make a killer and yet comfortable outfit for you to kiss 2010 goodbye in!

Fancy Dress Party
If you are going to a fancy dress New Year’s Eve party, you can still jazz your outfit up! Try and add touches of red or some sparkle. For instance this year I will be attending fancy dress party and the theme is 1920’s / 1930’s glam. I already have my outfit in mind: I will be wearing a black dress with flattering side ruching, which also comes in chic three quarter length sleeves and gold button detail on the side. To glam it up further for the special night I will be wearing some sparkly gold earrings, a faux fur shrug, and black high heels. I will be adding a touch of gold to my makeup, and of course wear red lingerie for good luck!

Remember if you cannot add on any red on the ‘outside’ of your outfit, you can always wear red lingerie on New Year’s Eve for good luck!

So there you have it, a few suggestions for what to wear on New Year’s Eve whatever kind of event you are attending. Remember the key is to be comfortable in what you are wearing, and adding some extra touches here and there to glam up your outfit for this special occasion.

Whatever you will be doing this New Year’s Eve make sure you welcome 2011 in curvy glamour and style.
