For women one of the hottest trends around at the minute is what we like to call The 3 B’s:

• Buttons,
• Bows and;
• Buckles.

No matter what style you decide to go for, if it’s current then it’s more than likely going to feature one of these cute details.

Buttons are a great look on a flat pump, to give a fun yet quirky look. Button fastenings are usually faux, which is great if you have wider feet because the strap will more than likely conceal an elastic strip to provide a more comfortable fit.

Bows are adaptable to either a casual or smart shoe. Look out for bows positioned on the back of a high-heeled platform! Very Kate Moss! If you fancy something a little more low-key a simple heel with bow detail to the front is a great look for either the office or the dance floor!

Buckles are being used all over different styles at the moment, whether on a t-bar stiletto or a casual boot. Coming in various different sizes you can choose whether to be daring with an over-sized buckle or classic with something more discreet.

Other hot trends to look out for are patent leather and peep-hole shoes, flat or heeled. Both these looks are beautifully vintage, which is still very much in right now. Retro prints and styles are still popular because they are so adaptable, anyone can wear this look no matter what their age or taste!

Again for Men the retro look is very much in. Although keep it simple, whereas girls have the ability to go a bit crazy with extravagant shoes, guys need to be a little more sophisticated. You don’t want to end up looking like you’re wearing a pair of dolled-up banana boats on each foot!

Trainers all in one colour are very retro 80s and have been seen on quite a few celebs, working especially well for a smart-casual look. If you fancy being uber trendy and keeping up with designers this spring be sure to choose lighter colours such as white and cream.

Converse have always been a classic and in recent years they have been seen on the catwalk season after season. If you do fancy sprucing up your outfit, Converse trainers are perfect as they come in a huge range of colours and styles.

If you’re after something more formal guys, then a tan leather formal shoe is a great look for the spring. Anything distressed adds a little interest to boring slip-ons, and again classic styles such as Brogues injects that vintage feel to a smart outfit.
