Brazilian Bombshell Fluvia Lacerda Plus Size Model Strikes a Pose for Vogue

The latest plus size model hitting the fashion world is  Brazilian Bombshell Fluvia Lacerda, plus size model who has just posed for Vogue

Earlier this year Larceda, a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and resident of America’s fashion capital, New York City became the first (and only) plus sized model to grace the pages of Playboy Brasil

Each day there appears to be more and more plus size models emerging which can only be a  good thing.

The emaciated bodies which have been portrayed for many years may eventually become history.

But on another note why should they, why not have all shapes and sizes strutting their stuff down the catwalks across the world.

Also why should they all be 5’ 8” and above in height – my friend and I are tall but the majority of the people we see on a day to day basis are a lot, lot shorter .

I am aware that designers state that clothes look better on taller, slimmer women but surely they also give the rest of the population the view that they aren’t normal. However walk down any high street and you will see the ‘norm’ are the over size 16 women well under the required model height.

With the population of the world getting larger in size  and the  high street finding it hard at the moment why not showcase a cross section of garments to fit every shape and size it might help.

Also why should models be young ?  The population are growing older so why not use more older men and women on the catwalk?

To be honest this debate could go on and on so we have set up a group in our community for you to have your say – go to Plus Size/Older Models

Don’t forget if you have a facebook page you can use this to sign on

Are you shorter and wider but would love to model tell us your story
