Models 1 expands for plus size models

Posted July 6, 2011 At last sense is starting to prevail and representation of the population in fashion is starting to creep in.
An article by Natasha Cowan in the Daily Telegraph on line states that the rise of the plus size model sees Models 1 merge with curvy-girl agency, Excel.

Models 1, the London-based model agency famous for launching the careers of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Yasmin Le Bon has started representing girls sized 14 and up, after joining forces with plus size model agency ‘Excel’.
‘Excel-Models1′ will respond to the increasing demand for curvy girls, with clients such as House of Fraser and ASOS on the lookout for more plus-sized models.

Everyone is after six years of 100% People and Real Bodies Unite battle realising that over 50% in the UK and 60% in the US of women are over size 16 so why has it taken so long for the fashion industry to wake up and realise that their is a huge market here.
