If you are lucky enough to be getting some winter sunshine this year then I am thinking of you! Mainly because I too would like to escape the cold winter months but I was thinking ‘okay so how am I going to get hold of a new swimsuit at this time of year?’

I find swim wear a real difficulty and I am always searching for advice before I try to find the retailer with the right size. So, we all know that woman who loves her body. She’s confident. She can’t wait for those steamy, hot days of summer so she can break out her bikini and confidently strut her stuff on the beach and by the pool. But the truth is, we probably all know the same woman!!! LOL! Why? Because there are so few women who fit that description, and most certainly she is not plus size!

The truth is that most of us are varying degrees of the opposite. We wish for just a few more weeks before summer vacation to crash diet or to do those extra laps around the gym or in the swimming pool (and I don’t mean one with a floating bar and a pool boy).

I understand it is too early to talk about beachwear in the context of summer, especially when it’s absolutely freezing out there and I have been wearing two layers of socks for the past month now! Not cool, as I can’t wear any nice shoes anywhere if I am wanting to remain without freezing feet!!

100% People have conducted a survey in which 848 women were questioned about swimwear and how it makes them feel.

The results show a staggering 41% of women never feel confident wearing a swim suit.

The research suggests that women have real concerns with exposing their bodies in swimwear. Of the women asked, 60% admitted to being a UK size 14 or above.

When so many women find purchasing and wearing swimwear such a traumatic and frustrating experience, is it any wonder so many of us have issues with this holiday essential? (more…)

Deciding what to take, and what not to take on holiday is always a struggle.
