Full Figured Fashion Week Review Request

I have been trying to find a review of the infamous Full Figured Fashion Week but they have been few and far between. I wanted to let you all know how the event went and what the outcome has been but hardly any people have come back with rave write-ups…I’m worried!

So, this is a plea to ask anyone who went to the event to give us a bell or write your comments at the end of this article so we know what happened at the event. I will keep a look out also, I would ideally like a release from the organiser herself - DeVoe Signature Events but in the meantime I have managed to find photos and a overview on Gabi’s wonderful blog ‘Young, Fat and Fabulous‘, she attended the event and you can see what her favourite pieces from the runway are and what she really thought of the event.

I would be more than happy to read your reviews of the event and place them on the website with your name and photo, simply contact us and I will reply as soon as I can. If it is an amazing write up, I will even place it on the front page for a week!

Plastic Surgery Brides!

June 3rd, 2009

The BIG Day!If I ever had a frontal lobotomy and decided to get wed, I wonder if I’d go for the increasingly popular option of surgery to help me lose weight or alter my looks. (Hey… perhaps the frontal lobotomy people would do me a deal- two op’s for the price of one, ‘lobotomy’ and ‘lop a bit off my bottom for me’ at the same time?!)

Surgery does seem a bit drastic, especially as these smug ‘married to be’s’ are supposed to have found the love of their life who should adore them no matter what they look like. It’s not meant to be: ‘till death do us part, as long as you keep up the botox and book in for that gastric bypass immediately’!

Weight loss clubs are macho

June 1st, 2009

Piling on weight can easily be done especially due to our current work ethics, unless of course you’re a fitness guru or blessed with a magic metabolism! unfortunately it is just as easy to ignore, especially if you’re a bloke.

A beer belly and a bit of extra flab can simply become part of life after a certain age. But eventually, for most people, a wake up call does arrive.

For Gordon Rae, the moment he realised something had to change came last Christmas when he was setting up the Nintendo Wii Fit he had bought for his sons.

“It tells you your weight, your body mass index, the whole nine yards,” recalls the 43-year-old from Carlisle. “I realised I weighed a lot more than I thought and it was a bit of a shock I must say.

“Then there were holiday photos, too… when you see yourself in glorious technicolour you realise what you look like.”
